"Raksha" means protection and "Bandhan" means tie or knot of protection.
The knot denotes that a brother will protect and be with her sister in all the circumstances.
Our children decorate their rakhis and tie on the wrists of boys to symbolically protect them. This helps our children to generate a sense of care and responsibility for one another.
